MTA has new trains and some of the old trains that many of us like and hope theyll stay on the tracks until we can drive them.
The trains that are hear today are
R32- Currently on the C and H lines. The H line is a temporary line because due to the damage of Hurricane Sandy. Try to ride it when possible. It's running between Far Rockaway-Mott Ave. and Beach 90th St.
R42- This train is available still but its really rare. It's on the C, and J/Z lines. The first ever MTA train with air condition and heat.
R46- This train is on the A, C, F, G R and Lefferts Blvd Shuttle lines. Still available today but rarely seen on the F and G lines. It is only on the C line during the summer.
R62A- On 1 and 7 lines
R62- 3 line
R68A- B and Franklyn Ave. Shuttle lines. Use to be on the Q line but replaced by R160's
R68 8 car- D line
R142- on the 2,4 and 5
R142A- 4 and 6 lines
R160A (Alstom)- E, F, J, L, M and Z. Rarely seen on other lines.
R160B (Kawasaki)- On the N and Q lines
R143- ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE L LINE no R42 can run on the track because of (CBTC) Communication Base Train Controls.
